Singaporean lender has made DBS today announced a series of senior leadership appointments that will take effect over the coming months, which reflect, it says, “the strength of its leadership bench and longstanding commitment to developing talent from within”.

Hong Kong

Ng Sier Han, presently CEO of DBS Taiwan, will be appointed as CEO of DBS Bank ( Hong Kong ) with effect from March 1 2027.

He has been CEO of DBS Taiwan since 2023. Lim, the bank points out, successfully led the integration of Citi’s consumer business, establishing DBS as Taiwan’s largest foreign bank. Under his leadership, DBS Taiwan’s net profit reached a record S$410 million in 2025.

A DBS veteran of more than 20 years, Ng joined the bank as a management associate in 2004 and has held a range of leadership roles, including head of financial institutions group, before assuming leadership of the Taiwan franchise.

Taiwan

Lim Chu Chong, currently president director of DBS Indonesia, will be CEO of DBS Taiwan, with effect from January 1 2027.

Lim, the bank notes, has been president director of Bank DBS Indonesia since August 2022. Since taking on the role, he has led the bank’s continued growth, delivering double-digit net profit growth in 2025, deepening its leadership in institutional banking, strengthening its position as a leading sustainable finance bank and expanding its wealth management franchise.

A career DBS banker, Lim has more than 30 years of experience across institutional, SME ( small and medium-sized enterprise ) and consumer banking, having previously served as chief operating officer of IBG and head of DBS IBG China.

Indonesia

Adrian Chai, currently a managing director in the institutional banking group ( IBG ) leading coverage across several strategic industry sectors, will assume the role of president-director of DBS Indonesia with effect from December 1 2026.

Chai, the bank shares, has been instrumental in strengthening DBS’ IBG franchise in the automotive, food and agribusiness, and metals and mining sectors, establishing the bank as a trusted partner to many of the world’s leading multinational corporations in Asia.

In 2023, he spearheaded the creation of the IBG foreign direct investment desk to capture growing inbound investment flows into Singapore and the wider Association of Southeast Asian Nations region. He also previously served as head of large corporates at DBS China from 2013 to 2018.

“Ng, Lim and Chai are seasoned DBS leaders with deep institutional knowledge, strong client relationships and proven track records of delivery,” adds Tan Su Shan, the bank’s CEO. “I am confident that they will continue to strengthen our franchise and take it to greater heights.”
