Raza Jafree will lead team under new partnership between CIB division and wealth and retail banking business
The Asset   9 Feb 2026

Standard Chartered has appointed Raza Jafree as global head of private client sales.

Jafree will lead a team under a new partnership between the bank’s corporate and investment banking ( CIB ) division and its wealth and retail banking ( WRB ) business to offer relevant CIB solutions to highly sophisticated single-family offices ( SFOs ) and ultra-high-net-worth individuals ( UHNWIs ) within the private bank, as well as SFOs and multi-family offices ( MFOs ) already managed by CIB. The new partnership aims to capture a growing market opportunity by capitalizing on the bank’s existing strong portfolio of private banking clients and the deep value proposition offered by its CIB business.

Jafree will report jointly to Sharad Desai, global head, sales and structuring, CIB, and Raymond Ang, global head, private bank and affluent clients, and Head of WRB for Greater China and North Asia.

Based in Hong Kong, he joined Standard Chartered on February 2nd.

Jafree has almost three decades of experience at Credit Suisse and subsequently at UBS, distributing bespoke solutions across products including private and public credit, rates, recourse and non-recourse financing. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in international banking and derivatives securities analysis from Southampton University.
